Workday Implementation Update: Architect & Configure Phase Underway

Norfolk State University has officially entered the Architect & Configure phase of the Workday implementation. Building on the insights gathered during the Readiness phase, this stage focuses on creating the foundational system environment that will support our future operations.

A major milestone in this phase is the development of our Workday tenant, a test environment where the project team can explore and interact with the system. Over the past few months, NSU has worked closely with our implementation partner, Huron, to gather and organize the data needed to bring this environment to life.

What's Next?

During the week of October 13th, the project team engaged in Customer Confirmation Sessions. These sessions were designed to review and refine key business processes to ensure they align with the unique needs of NSU.

Upcoming Activities in the Architect & Configure Phase

As we continue through the Architect & Configure phase of the Workday implementation, several important activities are underway to ensure the system meets NSU’s strategic and operational needs:

  • Change Network Readiness Workshops:
These workshops prepare our change navigators with the tools, knowledge, and strategies needed to support a smooth transition to Workday. Meet the Change Navigators
  • Unit Testing (UT):
Completed testing of individual components of the system to ensure they function correctly and address any issues early in the process.
  • Customer Confirmation Sessions (CCS): Stakeholders will review configurable business processes and provide input to fine-tune the system for NSU’s needs.
  • Workstream & Data Alignment Sessions: These sessions focus on ensuring our data and workflows are consistent, accurate, and optimized for Workday.

These activities are critical to building a strong, user-focused system. Thank you to all team members and stakeholders for your continued support and collaboration as we move forward together.
